Is Communication With God Through Prayer Under Attack?
Christ Jesus himself was questioned by the Pharisees many times for healing on the Sabbath. At that time, work was not allowed on the Sabbath and Jesus challenged the law by calling into question what qualified as work.
Mark 3: 1-6 NKJV
Healing on the Sabbath
1. And He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand.
2. So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.
3. And He said to the man who had the withered hand, “Step forward.”
4. Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.
5. And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.
6. Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.
The story about Jesus healing the man with the withered hand is one of many that demonstrate how Jesus challenged the established order of the time. They couldn’t overcome his logic (because it was perfect) and couldn't compete with his healings. So, they viewed him as a threat to their established order. The result was crucifixion and ascension, which led to a new religion: Christianity.
So it has been since the days after the crucifixion that the followers of Jesus have been persecuted. Persecution has taken many forms throughout the millennia, as they do today and it varies by location. In the West, Christians are attacked by using a method of soft tyranny, often using a subtle targeting of religious practices, such as prayer. I will explain further after discussing first what prayer is to believers like myself.
What is Prayer?
According to Christianity.org.uk, “Christianity is talking to God.” I’ve heard others compare praying to tuning into a radio station. Prayer turns the human spirit to the Divine Mind to receive it’s messages. It focuses our minds to sense a harmony which transcends the physical plane of existence and allows us to use our souls to tap into the Divine realm of being.
I believe it is direct communication with God, and I do it often. In fact, I do it multiple times a day. I believe God knows what’s in our hearts, what’s in our thoughts, and that by praying to Him, we open ourselves to receive His Divine Love. I also believe that prayer opens our hearts and minds in such a way that imparts upon us knowledge that we cannot otherwise receive. It is a little difficult to describe with words, but if you’ve ever prayed to have discernment and then recieved it, you know what I mean.
There are varying methods of prayer. This article is not about how to pray, so I won’t be discussing that. Instead, I want to bring into focus modern efforts by evil, tyrannical elements of Western governments to interfere with Christians who pray to God.

The Battle Over Prayer (examples of methods of soft tyranny)
As I stated, Christians use prayer as a method for direct communication with God. Interfering with this method is a direct attack on God and Christians alike. It is evil.
In an article published on October 18, 2024, called, UK Court Rules Silent Prayer Is A Crime, Tony Davenport wrote that, “It’s now official. Silent prayer is a crime in England.”
Davenport went on to write, “British army veteran Adam Smith-Connor has been found guilty of committing a criminal offence after praying silently near an abortion clinic in the city of Bournemouth.”
The government of England wants to regulate how individuals communicate with God. Is history repeating? Didn't the Puritans flee from religious persecution in England and other parts of Europe? The European settlers of North America in the 1600’s wanted religious freedom. Are modern Brits ignorant of their own history, particularly the part about renouncing religious persecution in 1689?
Read more here about the Puritans: https://www.loc.gov/exhibits/religion/rel01.html
Is the English government banning silent prayer in certain circumstances so that it can lay the foundation for prosecuting future thought crimes? How can the government possibly prove what a person is thinking or silently praying?
England is not the only place in the West where prayer is under attack.
An article written by Ben Johnson for the Washington Stand explains that a new law in New South Wales, Australia, prohibits prayer or other religious expression “directed to changing or suppressing an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity.” In other words, if someone prays to God over another person to change their sexual orientation, the praying person has broken the law and can be sent to prison for up to five years. The article goes on to explain that telling someone to “repent” is also a violation of the law, even if it is requested.
I can plainly see what the government of NSW is attempting, and I would label this behavior as tyranny. Any government instituting any law restricting the practice of prayer is actively engaging in satanism. Furthermore, it is an infringement on an individual’s right to practice religion. Governments that pervert their secular nature to infringe on religious liberty must be changed, replaced, dismantled, or abolished. When governments violate the social contract in such a manner, it becomes incumbent on all individuals engaged in that contract to take swift action. Anything short of that will result in additional infringements on individual liberty.
Regulating prayer with legislation and criminal penalties is to interfere with how we communicate with God. I find it personally ironic that satanic or atheist authorities would prioritize this. I’ve had many nonbelievers mock and ridicule me for “talking to an imaginary friend.” If God is imaginary to them, then why bother with laws of this nature? They seem highly bothered by Christians talking to their imaginary friend. Bothered to the point that they have rage, hatred, and vindictiveness in their hearts. It sounds like they need Jesus, doesn’t it?
This Article explains how praying privately within one’s home may be a violation of Scottish law. Letters were sent out to residents who live within abortion buffer zones (yes, you read that right), which are zones designed to protect anyone seeking an abortion from being coerced, influenced or prevented from having an abortion.
One of the letters sent out stated, “In general, the offences apply in public places within the Safe Access Zones. However, activities in a private place (such as a house) … could be an offence if they can be seen or heard within the Zone and are done intentionally or recklessly.”
The Scottish Government is engaged in tyranny and the tyranny is directed at how Christians communicate with God.
Discussion
Dear reader, if you’re rolling your eyes at me, thinking that persecution has been happening for centuries, then you are missing the point. Governments across the West are slowly and incrementally passing laws to regulate religious practices. It is subtle. It is soft tyranny, which is a form of tyranny that creeps softly until most of your freedoms are gone.
If there were ever a case to be made for citizen self governance, this is it folks. We don’t need these satanic bureacrats telling us when, where and how to pray. Where are our religious leaders and why are they not publicly and peacefully demonstrating against these laws? Like Christ Jesus did 2000 years before, Christians should be challenging them. There must be a way to challenge them, just like in the days of Jesus, so that the tyrants in power cannot logically, nor legally act. Perhaps, we can pray to God and ask Him to show us how.
If we allow this to continue, in front of our faces, then we will someday find our religious practices to be completely banned from every place. The attack on prayer is a Spiritual Attack and it must be defeated. I for one, will continue to pray and I will do it often. I will also continue to fight for prayer in the arena of ideas. My communication with God is very important to me. How important is it to you? Will you join in the fight for religous liberty? Or, will you wait until you’re the target of persecution? How you act now determines the future. If you are a Christian, a serious Christian, then you know that there is work to be done. So let’s get busy.
