Lady Liberty Sheds a Tear
Last week we heard the verdict in Trump’s New York criminal case. He was found guilty on all thirty-four charges. Never before has a former President been charged and convicted of a crime. Stating that it’s historic is an understatement. Following the verdict, the attacks on the First Amendment have exploded. The Epoch Times has been rocked by making headlines itself. Read about that here: Epoch Times CFO Bill Guan is charged in alleged $67 million global money laundering scheme. Seemingly, the InfoWars network is also under attack. According to court documents, the plaintiffs in the Free Speech Systems Federal bankruptcy case are attempting to liquidate the assets possessed by InfoWars, which has proven it can stay in business and produce a profit. Selling off assets to liquidate them at a fraction of their value means that the creditors will get less money than if they had a continued revenue stream worth millions. I thought the families wanted to be reimbursed for being defamed. Pain and suffering or political agenda? What’s really going on? It doesn't make sense to me. You can find the court docs using the following link:
Steve Bannon has been ordered to report to prison to serve four months following a conviction of contempt of Congress. With Bannon going to the Big House, he won’t be speaking from behind a microphone in the months leading up to the election. It is hilarious and ironic that Former FBI Director Andrew McCabe said that employees of the FBI are worried about Trump Jailing them and are thinking of fleeing the country. So, does that mean they are scared they could be prosecuted for crimes they committed? Wait, they don’t want to be held accountable for their actions? Rules for thee and not for me?
With all that and more going on, it would be easy to miss a certain subtext. While thinking about the NY Trump trial, I realized that some fundamental questions should be raised. There’s a larger picture of lawfare, with prosecutions and arrests for some political figures and not for others. (Cough Cough. Where’s Hunter?) We’ve seen criminals in blue cities and states avoid prosecution for theft. Retailers are now fleeing those areas and closing down. In certain places, the left has changed requirements for bail, releasing violent criminals back onto the streets right after they were arrested. This begs the question, what has happened to the legal system in the United States?
Furthermore, this situation raises some basic, fundamental questions like: What is law and how is it supposed to serve society? Is it ethical, just, and moral? Does it reflect a just, ethical, and moral society?
Citizens of modern society in the United States are faced with deciding what kind of society they want. Should we allow our country to devolve into a chaotic, lawsless nation? Or is there to be law and order?
It will be ethical and moral or it will be neither. Any nation's legal system reflects its society's ethics and morals. If the society lacks strong morals and ethics, then the legal system is unjust and corrupt. Do we want to have a two-tiered legal system? There are fundamental basics to the American Justice system that have made it superior to all before it. The right to face one’s accuser, the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, the right to a fair trial, the right to a speedy trial, the right to have a jury of one’s peers, the right to an attorney, and the right to not self-incriminate are among those basics. When did we decide to throw out these principles?
It used to be said that it is better to "let a thousand murderers go free before imprisoning one innocent man."
The lawfare to purge police departments of good cops and jurisdictions of justice-seeking prosecutors adds to the list of everything wrong with today’s legal system. Biased, corrupted judges and tampered jury pools spell out the end. The system has been corrupted through and through and I believe it is by design. I believe this has been carefully thought out and crafted for such a moment as this. The Deep State has been incrementally implementing stages of a larger plan for decades. I believe the final stage is upon us now.
The lawfare is not new, but they’ve found a way to come after some BIG names, while deliberately leaving others alone. It’s an attack on our core values and the bedrock of the country. The legal system is our way of settling disputes between each other. When two neighbors have a disagreement that must be decided by a third party, they rely on the system to function fairly. When a crime is committed, the system is supposed to work to catch the criminal and punish him for the good of society. When the system does not function as it should, it no longer works for the benefit of the greater good and instead, society falls into tumult and chaos like it is now.
The recent news of Trump’s conviction has spotlighted how the system can be weaponized. It drew more attention than the January 6th cases. Notice a trend? How many people have had lawfare waged against them by this behemoth of a government? We have been shown repeatedly, but we have ignored the warning signs. We can no longer ignore what’s happening. Bad cycles will repeat until we learn from them and then break the cycle. How many times must this country repeat the cycle before we break it? I believe it can be done, but we have to do it together. We must first seek God’s help through prayer. This is a fight between Good and Evil. Seeking God gives us the ability to break the spell of evil that others are under. Then we must put immense pressure on all elected officials to do the right thing and end this cycle of lawfare. Then we must come together to discuss how we will prevent this from ever happening again. Last, we implement changes, observe and evaluate how well those changes do, and make adjustments along the way. We must Save the American Legal System.
The American Legal System is interwoven with the underlying principles of the political system. Together, these two systems form the fabric of the Republic. Imagine what happens if one is eroded to the point it no longer serves its basic function. Does the other cease to function? For how many years have we seen gridlock in Congress? The political system is filled with lifelong bureaucrats, unelected tyrants, and oligarchs who enrich themselves off of the backs of hard-working, taxpaying Americans. When the political system has become so corrupt that it no longer represents the will of the people, is it any surprise when the legal system begins to fail? Perhaps we should ask the lawyers in Congress…
In summary, Americans need to decide now if life yesterday was better than it will be tomorrow and what to do about that. Legal chaos and Constitutional crisis are upon us. The foundation of the Republic is at stake. I don’t see many, if any, discussing this issue. We need to get back on track now and hurry before Lady Liberty sheds a tear.
